The diagnostic services that Hematology-Oncology Associates of
Rockland provide include a state-of-the-art
evaluation based upon the interpretation of radiographic (X-ray,
ultrasound, CT, MRI, PET and other nuclear scans) and laboratory studies.
Therapeutic services provided include single agent and multi-agent
chemotherapy, "high dose" chemotherapy with bone marrow
transplantation (both autologous and allogeneic), immunotherapy (including
cytokines and monoclonal antibodies), transfusion of blood and other blood
products, management of cancer and chemotherapy-related symptoms
(including pain, nausea, constipation), genetic counseling about cancer
risk and chemoprevention.

Psychiatric Social Worker
Serious illness and treatment can bring additional stress into many areas of life, often creating numerous practical problems along with feelings of frustration, anxiety and grief. Cancer Center social workers are specialists in the area of illness-related problems and are available for individual consultation.
Clinical Trial Network
A clinical trial is a research study conducted with cancer patients, typically to evaluate a new treatment. Before new treatment is given to patients, it is carefully studied in the laboratory. Clinical trials help us find out if a promising new treatment is safe and effective for patients. During a trial, more information is gained about a new treatment, its risks and how well it may work. Nutritionist
For many patients, their diet during their illness and treatment can be another challenge. Hematology Oncology Associates of Rockland has a registered Nutritionist that will help you in determining the best possible diet geared towards providing you with the nutrients necessary for your health.
