Hematology is the field of Internal Medicine that includes the study, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the blood. Hematologists evaluate and treat patients with anemia, thrombocytopenia, enlarged lymph nodes or spleen, bleeding and clotting disorders and other abnormalities of the blood.
Oncology is the field of Internal Medicine that includes the study, diagnosis and treatment of cancerous tumors. Oncologists specialize in treating cancer with chemotherapy and immunotherapy. They work with surgeons and radiation oncologists to treat cancer.
